Pro AV is being built around XR now, not experimenting with it.

AVIXA's 2026 industry trends name Extended Reality as one of four technologies reshaping professional AV, alongside AV-over-IP, cloud software and AI. Immersive displays and video walls are moving out of events and galleries and into classrooms, boardrooms and retail floors. AVIXA puts global Pro AV revenue at $332 billion in 2025, tracking toward $402 billion by 2030.

Residential integration is converging on the same point from the other direction. CEDIA's 2026 expo drew hundreds of exhibitors, and the message from the show floor was direct: professional integration is turning from a luxury into a necessity as home systems get more complex, with home cinema, media rooms and outdoor AV named as the fastest-growing categories for the year ahead.

Different budgets, same shift. The integrator who used to wire a projector and a sound system is increasingly the person a client calls to make an immersive space actually work, commercial or residential.
