India's live events market has crossed ₹13,000 crore (about $1.41 billion), and the money moving through it is changing shape.
A BookMyShow-EY-Parthenon report, "Beyond Attention. Into Immersion," surveyed 7,450 attendees after live events across the country. 59% recalled the brands they interacted with on-ground. 55% reported higher purchase intent afterward. More than half the brands surveyed ran an experiential activation in the past year, and 88% of them plan to make it a structured, recurring part of their marketing rather than a one-off stunt. Among brands that grew their experiential spend over the past three years, 44% saw that spend rise by up to 30%.
Read that as a shift in what a live event is being asked to do. It is no longer just a venue for a stage and a schedule; it is being budgeted as a measurable brand channel, with recall and purchase intent as the numbers that justify next year's line item.
That raises the bar on what the event itself has to deliver: engagement good enough to survive a survey three weeks later, at a price the sponsor will pay again.
