India's AVGC-XR sector is getting real infrastructure

India's AVGC-XR sector is getting real infrastructure, not just headlines. The Indian Institute of Creative Technology — the National Centre of Excellence for Animation, VFX, Gaming, Comics and XR — began operations in Mumbai in July 2025, backed by a government grant of ₹391 crore. States are moving fast too: Haryana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have each rolled out their own AVGC-XR policies through 2026, built around funding, skilling and a dedicated centre of excellence. The national policy's stated goal is a $20 billion AVGC-XR market by 2030.

Most of that build-out is training pipelines and studio infrastructure — the plumbing content needs to exist. What plugs into it is work like ours: audio-first scenes where live sound drives moving light and 3D space together, built to run untethered in a real room.

The institutions are being built. The content is still open to define.
