RayNeo launches two AR glasses with opposite ideas of what AR is for

RayNeo shipped two AR glasses lines this week that don't agree on what AR glasses are for.

The RayNeo iO weighs 33 grams, splits its weight evenly between front and back, and is built for all-day wear - a productivity device meant to disappear on your face. The RayNeo GT Max goes the other way: dual micro-OLED displays at 1,200 nits, a 59-degree field of view scaling up to a 307-inch virtual screen, Bang & Olufsen spatial audio with head tracking, and Dolby Vision playback through a companion streaming box. One glasses line is built to vanish. The other is built to be the biggest screen you own.

Both go on sale September 4, from the same company, in the same week.

That is not indecision. It is a bet that the AR glasses market has not converged on what the category actually is yet - and that shipping both versions beats guessing which one wins.
