More than half the tracks uploaded to Deezer every day are now fully AI-generated — upward of 90,000 a day as of July 2026, up from 44% in April and 39% in January.

Listener behaviour has not followed at the same pace. AI-generated tracks account for only 1-3% of total streams on the platform. Of those streams, Deezer says up to 85% are fraudulent — bot plays farming royalties, not people listening.
Generation got cheap fast. Trust did not move at the same speed. The bottleneck in music right now is not making more of it. It is knowing what is real enough to pay for.
